How did you get started in the fashion business and how has the industry changed?
Jenny: The industry has changed in immeasurable ways since we started, from the international scope and the immediacy and speed of the fashion industry but fundamentally it’s still the same concept, we’re still making beautiful clothes at the end of the day.
What makes for a perfect fit? Which items do you turn to again and again?
Toni: We’re obsessed with the perfect tee. We always have a number of our cult classics in every collection. The perfect fit is kind of indescribable, it’s made up of a bunch of different elements: a great silhouette, arm length, body length and the best cotton with a slight texture.

How would you describe your style? What inspires you to do the work you do?
Jenny: Our style is very similar, it’s a laid-back Californian aesthetic with an understated luxe running through everything. We’re inspired by everything around us: art, music, theater, literature and nature. We’re so lucky here in Southern California to have so many amazing places to visit and get inspired by. Have you ever been to Joshua Tree? It’s insane!
What do you see for the future of fashion – particularly related to the way people shop online? Jenny: The future of fashion is a brave new world! I think people will continue to shop online in droves but there will always be a place for bricks and mortar stores. We're just about to open a store in the Hamptons, our first store on Madison Ave in NYC is scheduled to open this summer and London is next!

What some of the mistakes people make when shopping for clothes? Toni: I think it’s harder to make mistakes these days thanks to online shopping and the ability to try pieces at home and return them if they don’t work out. The best piece of advice is to take your closest friend with you, someone who always speaks the truth! Shop Velvet by Graham & Spencer and find your True Fit.
